WHAT WE OFFER
Management Consulting
Osie Gaines Consulting, LLC is a purpose-driven consultancy focused on improving health outcomes for the U.S. population. We help Healthcare and Life Science companies refine their digital health strategy, confidently adopt emerging technology, and/or develop new patient-focused solutions. We use qualitative research to assess the market or underlying organizational needs. Then, we ideate fearlessly to design a sustainable future for our clients.
Many organizations are rightfully wary of the terms “management consulting,” “strategic consulting,” and “business transformation.” They may have spent considerable sums of money just to receive fancy presentations and consulting decks with few actionable next steps and limited results. Our organization has a consistent history of completing successful projects with measurable return-on-investment (ROI). We are invested in understanding your Mission and Values and crafting a path forward that has a lasting impact on patients in need.
Qualitative Research
Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business manages a unique program for Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) alumni called the Center for Engaged Business Research (CEBR). As an active CEBR Research Associate, I leverage the university’s faculty, library resources, and institutional review board to conduct engaged scholarship focused on exploring contemporary business problems.
Please download the dissertation “Phenomenological Assessment of Integrative Medicine Decision-making and the Utility of Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics Tools” as an example of Qualitative Research. As lead author, I used interview scripts, recordings, transcribed data, and qualitative coding platforms to draw out the story of how doctors view emerging AI/ML technology. I also have expertise facilitating meetings and workshops, using surveys, collaboration platforms, mind mapping and white boarding tools to conduct research in a hybrid world (face-to-face and virtual data collection, research team collaboration, and analysis).
We are currently looking for passionate collaborators to conduct research that will have a tangible impact to patients, Innovators, Healthcare and Life Science practitioners. Topics of interest include the following: Overcoming Algorithm Aversion, Patient-Focused Technology, Ethical Application of AI, Gamification of Health and Wellness, Integrative Medicine and Naturopathic Medicine.
Guest Lecturing
As a part of my doctoral studies, I completed the Brightman Master Teacher Program offered by Georgia State University. This certification (delivered over 12 modules) provided empirical-based research on how to improve student learning and student evaluation of instructor scores. It reinforced teaching and presentation concepts I had learned organically in my 10 years consulting and technical training experience.
My teaching philosophy is evolving. However, I will always use the following five strategies to maximize student success:
- Connect with students at their level of understanding
- Explain the value of the information being presented
- Present information in multi-modal ways
- Provide opportunities for students to seek help
- Continue to challenge them to apply learning
I am currently looking for Guest Lecturer opportunities and pathways to create curriculum for on demand, web-based courses. Areas of expertise include the following: AI/ML in Healthcare and Life Sciences, Ideation and Design Thinking, Ethical Application of Innovation, Strategy Consulting and Project Management topics.
Public Speaking
Imagine being raised by a family of accomplished storytellers. My father doesn’t waste words. However, his sharp timing and well-placed punchlines make the entire room shake with laughter. My mother, an accomplished speaker and leader within Toastmasters, has a polished eloquence that she uses to paint murals of the human experience with a full palette of emotional color. Both of my dear grandmothers took me on adventures with their words, helping me time travel effortlessly from their childhoods wearing ribbons to their silver-haired days wearing aprons and Church hats. One grandfather whispered intensely about that day’s front-page news, political theory, and the family’s migration from Arkansas to Chicago and Benton Harbor. The other inspired his Baptist flock, delivering typed sermons from his booming, barrel-shaped chest.
That gumbo of storytelling flavor is in me.
The main public speaking theme is simple: “Stop worrying. Breath. It will all work out.” Please, connect with me if you are interested in a speaker to cover any of the following topics:
- Preparing for a Career Change
- Overcoming Obstacles and Losses in Life
- Building Successful Teams / Rescuing Struggling Teams
- Mastering Fatherhood
- Motivation for Young Men
Mentoring & Coaching
I have been Blessed to have great parents, mentors, and coaches. They reinforced values like good sportsmanship, employing patience, and leading by example. However, some of my toughest struggles occurred in years where I operated without a mentor. Those losses taught be necessary lessons. They also shaped my character and helped me to grow fearless in the face of new challenges. But I often wonder how my career could have looked if I had sought out a mentor during certain seasons in my professional life.
For the last 25 years, I have acted as a mentor/coach for middle school, high school, college students and young professionals. I also hold a leadership role within the Boy Scouts of America, teaching life skills to youth. My personal approach to coaching and mentoring is best suited for a specific style of leader: the aggressive, creative, maestro personality. I have a knack for getting their attention, gaining their trust, and providing tailored feedback that is easy to digest. My goal is for the mentee to quickly gain confidence and move on to the next challenge.
“The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves.” — Steven Spielberg
